2,000 More Weekends Left

Why are you here on earth? Let me ask that again. Why are YOU here on earth?
Do you know how much longer you have to live?
Are you making a difference with the time you do have?

Do you know that if your last day on earth was at 70 years old, and you were 30 right now, you would only have 2,000 more weekends on this earth before you left it? If you were 40 years old, you would only have 1,500 weekends left. So let's say you were 60 years old, you would only have 500 weekends left before you died. When it's put that way, it seems like there isn't as much time as we thought.

Death is at the doorstep of everyone, we are all mortal. We will all die.  At times I wonder...since everyone will die, why does the world spend so much time trying to get rid of wrinkles or seek new science on how to live longer? The real problem with all this is death. Death is the culprit, we are all trying to escape it but we can't.  It will find us and overtake us. If we took death out of the picture, think about how much more we could do, how much more money or time people would spend on other things!

The fact is, death is the end for some and the beginning for others. Death has lost it's sting for those who put their faith in Jesus Christ.  There is a cure for death, His name is Jesus Christ and it is only through His salvation that we are freed from death. Yes we will die physically, but not spiritually.   Jesus is the only One who conquered death and the only One who is still alive today.  Because of this, he is the only One that can save us from death. He is the only One who conquered it and is the only One who can transfer that free gift over to us. He has delivered us from the largest culprit known to mankind.

Jesus came to give us life, and to have it more abundantly. Satan came to steal kill and destroy (John 10:10). There is no middle ground. You can't serve two masters (Matt. 6:24). You are either for or against God. You can't be lukewarm on this one (Rev. 3:16).

We all have the will to live and we all have the fear of death (Hebrews 2:15). No one in their right mind wants to die.  Jesus was born to this earth through a virgin, died on a cross, rose from the dead and appeared to many and ascended to heaven. He was the only one who did all these things. So, if you think there was a 1 in a million chance that Jesus was right and actually did all these things, wouldn't you even consider looking in to it?
Eternity is a long time to be wrong about something so wonderful.
